The Chatterbox Exotic SMG Stats and Perks
The Chatterbox is a modern-day P90 SMG, a gun many of you will be extremely familiar with if shooter games are your jam. Before we dive into the steps you need to take to find the Exotic Chatterbox, let’s quickly run through the stats on this weapon and determine whether the Chatterbox is worth finding.
The Exotic gun absolutely shreds targets with a 700 RPM and an impressive mag size of 60 bullets. The magazine size of 60 is enormously important in determining the strength of the Chatterbox as it’s heavily affected by the talents below.
- Incessant Chatter: Every shot landed grants 1% rate of fire to a max of 60%. This rests on reload.
- Box Magazine: Kills with this weapon refill 20% of its magazine and grants a buff for 10s. While the buff is active, every shot landed increases magazine capacity by 1 to a max of 60. Killing a target consumes the buff to fully refill the increased magazine.
- Blabbermouth: While holstered, reloading your weapon within 5s after a kill grants 20% rate of fire for 10s.
In a nutshell, the Chatterbox SMG can potentially fire endlessly as long as you’re eliminating targets.
How to get the Chatterbox SMG – The Division 2 Guide
A quick heads up, acquiring the Chatterbox is going to require a fair bit of grinding and the favor of the RNG gods. With that in mind let’s dive into how you can get the Chatterbox SMG in The Division 2.
Players will have to craft the Exotic weapon, meaning there are many parts that are required to be obtained first. To start, you’ll need to open many Hyena crates. These naturally will need to be opened with a Hyena Key. To find Hyena Keys we recommend heading underground, you can spot underground entrances by looking for marked orange arrows. Look for small cabinets on the walls. Note: you will also encounter other keys and crates, but the only one that’s important for the Chatterbox is the Hyena.
Opening Hyena boxes does not guarantee you a Chatterbox component, so the number of crates you will need to open will depend on personal luck. Note: Small Cabinets will respawn every 24 hours.
Chatterbox SMG Check List
- SMG: Loaded Canister
- SMG: Creative Magazine
- SMG: Modified Mods
- The Lost Chatterbox Blueprint
The first item you need to obtain the Chatterbox is the Loaded Canister. You can exclusively find the Loaded Canister from Hyena crates in Downtown East. This can be discovered in the Grand Washington mission, in fact, there will be two Hyena crates to try your luck at. One can be found in a small bathroom just off the main lobby, and the second is to your right as you enter the rooftop. You can replay this mission as many times as you need until you have received the Loaded Canister.
Next up you will need to locate the Creative Mag. Exactly the same as the previous component, except this time we’ll be heading inside Federal Triangle more specifically the Jefferson Trade Center mission. Inside the loading bay at the very end, you will encounter a Hyena crate.
Finally, the last item on our wish list is the Modified Mods. This time, however, you’ll need some scouting skills. You’ll have to look around Judiciary Square’s general vicinity in hopes of finding a Hyena crate.
Great, we at long last have all the parts now lets combin… Not so fast. Before we can combine the three parts for the Chatterbox we need the Chatterbox blueprint. Head to Downtown West and play the Bank Headquarters mission on Challenging difficulty. In the vault a new crate will appear, luckily, there is no RNG needed here, as long as you have all the three components you will receive the Chatterbox blueprint.
Now it’s time to celebrate! Head back to your Exotic crafting bench found at the Base of Operations and get crafting.
