Fight and compete in three Trainer Battle Leagues in Pokemon Go, Great League, Ultra League and Master League
A few days ago Niantic teased the new anticipated feature coming soon to Pokemon Go, Trainer Battles! You will be able to fight and compete against other trainers in the Trainers Battle League, demonstrating your ingenious skill to become the best trainer in the world. Here is the first look at Trainer Battles in Pokemon Go.
Trainer Battle Leagues
The Trainer Battle League comprises of three leagues, Great League, Ultra League and Master League. To make sure each trainer battle is fair, Trainers must be in the same Trainer Battle League you are competing. Furthermore, each league has their own specified Max CP requirement.
Max CP per Pokémon: 1500
Max CP per Pokémon: 2500
Max CP per Pokémon: No Limit
The trainer battles will be similar to a gym battle with one major difference, human interactions. You will be battling your friends who are able to dodge skills, plan strategic attacks just like you can. Trainer Battles will be more tense and gruelling than you have yet to experience in Pokemon Go.
Battles will happen real-time so you must choose carefully when to strike using your Pokemon quick or charged attack moves. One wrong move can spell the end of the battle. You can deploy Protect Shields to protect your Pokémon from sustaining damage, but you only have a limited amount.
If you are looking to be more offensive, you will be able to gain bonus charged attacks. This can be unlocked by using your Stardust and Candy before you head into battle.
It would appear each trainer is able to select up to three Pokemon each.
Initiating Trainer Battles
When you are nearby trainers, you are able to challenge the trainer using a Battle Code. Some Trainer Battles can be initiated far away only if they on your Ultra Friends or Best Friends List. After each battle, both parties will receive rewards for your participation, you even have a chance to obtain rare Evolution Items.
Before you go up against other trainers, to get a handle on things you can train with your team leader. Team leaders are Spark, Candela, and Blanche
This will undoubtedly help you to carefully plan and strategize with the current Pokemon you have in your team. This will be an encouraging start to see if you need to find new or level up your Pokemon.
Once per day you will be able to receive rewards from your team leader like the much-needed stardust, as this will help to power up your Pokemon.
