Fortnite Battle Royale Gameplay
You’ll start each battle royale by jumping out of the battle bus and falling/gliding to a location you choose. You’ll also notice you can see all the other players around you, use this to best determine a safe location to land. Once grounded, hunt for a weapon. You can locate weapons on the floor and within buildings. A far more reliable source is to open chests to get weapons and other supplies, more on them later. Now that you have a weapon, you can now at least defend yourself against enemies. If you are unsure if a player is nearby. Visuals and sounds (footsteps, gunshots, explosions) are on hand to assist you. So a headset is must to help locate where the sound is coming from.
What sets Fortnite apart from other battle royale games like PUBG?
Weapons
You can locate weapons on the ground, within loot chest and inside supply drops. There’s a diverse range of available weapons with 5 different rarities.
Grey = Common, Green = Uncommon, Blue = Rare, Purple = Epic, Orange = Legendary
Legendary weapons are the best variation you can get but are the hardest to get. Here is a list of all current items in the game and their rarity.

Fortnite Consumable
Like weapons, you can locate medkits and shield potion around the battlefield. Shields are a vital part of your defenses as they act as armor that keeps you safe. Taking damage from another player will remove your shield before your hp. Keep in mind. The storm’s damage and fall damage will affect your health bar only and ignore any shield you may have.
Heals
Shields
Small Shield – These potions drop in quantities of 3 and will quickly add 25 shields but just like bandages they’re capped. The small shield potions can only get your shield to 50. This is a channel item that takes 2 seconds to consume which means you cannot move for the allocated time.
Shield Potion – The “bigger brother” of the small shields, recovering your shield by 50. Which means you can either use 2 of these to get 100 shield or 2 small shield potions and 1 shield potion to make your shield bar full. This is a channel item that takes 5 seconds to consume which means you cannot move for the allocated time.
Slurp Juice – This item actually falls into both healing and shield category as the item uniquely regenerates both. In total, slurp juice will recover 25hp and 25 shields but not right away. Slurp juice will give you 1 hp and 1 shield every second until you have received 25 hp and 25 shield. This is a channel item that takes 2 seconds to consume which means you cannot move for the allocated time.
Chug Jug – Just like the slurp juice chug jug also replenishes both hp and shield, however, this item recovers both fully giving you 100 hp and 100 shield. This is a channel item that takes 15 seconds to consume which means you cannot move for the allocated time

In Conclusion
The appeal of having cartoon-style graphics in games allows for more interesting features. Unlike those with life-like graphics, these quirky features are far more believable. Can you imagine boogie bombing an enemy player in CSGO? That visual image seems ridiculous in games where graphics are as realistic as possible. Yet Fortnite could introduce a remote-controlled sheep squirting toxic rainbow from its eyes. This is acceptable due to the cartoon-like graphics. Although Epic Games could explore infinite possible ventures. They have done a fantastic job at finding the right balance. If an in-game item has not had good feedback from their fan base, they are not afraid to remove it from the game. Which does not always mean the end of the item as sometimes Epic Games will rework the item and release at a later date. Also as seen by the released emotes. They draw inspiration from others (so let’s hope they add that remote-controlled sheep. – credits to L2P Bomb, thanks!).
As of right now, Fortnite is the most popular game in the world. Being played by kids, teens, adults and many celebrities. Epic games’ ability to provide fresh and fun content is the pinnacle of their success. Each week it seems Epic Games brings out new game modes, weapons and emotes. Fortnite’s item store offers a limited number of cosmetics. Which consists of skins, backpacks, gliders, and axes which change daily. It also provides special emotes, some of which are dances from various viral classics. Examples “fresh” – the Carlton dance from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or “Take the L” – It.
Fortnite Battle Royale is a ‘must’ play game that you should not miss out on!
