Fortnite Season 7 is currently in full swing, making one hell of a grand arrival. The gigantic Iceberg has struck the island, fusing with the landscape and encasing many named locations in snow and ice. Embedded in the iceberg is the anticipated castle, which is presently on our doorsteps. However, not all of its historical mysteries have been revealed as a majority of the castle is still beneath the snow. Which locations have survived the Iceberg and what lurks beneath the ice?
Many map changes have occurred for the promising start of Season 7, so much so that it can be overwhelming for some fans to adjust. Fortunately the week 1 challenges will allow us to explore the new Fortnite map to help us grasp the changes. Below you’ll find all the Fortnite Season 7 Map changes, hidden locations, and some unique surprises to aid you further.
Naturally, it only makes sense to start with the most profound change to the map, the new snow biome. Three new areas have emerged with tons of playful memorabilia and secret locations between all three. We also say goodbye to Flush Factory and Greasy Grove. I naturally wonder if Durrr Burger knew this all along?
Happy Hamlet Location
Quite possibly the most prosperous area on the Fortnite map, Happy Hamlet is a charming new town with many lovely homes and stores. Christmas decorations have already coated this area with reindeer, lights and even a towering Christmas tree spotted. Chests can be found readily in Happy Hamlet making this a great location for loot. The potential downside to the town, however, is the locations being so far out the way. This is not as much of a problem as it would have been in a prior season thanks to the introduction of planes and zip lines.
Frosty Flights Location
A.I.M has flexed his muscles across the Fortnite map, with his base of operations seemingly the new location Frosty Flights. There are many outposts, zip lines, and aircraft hangars. In Frosty Flights, you should have no trouble acquiring the latest vehicle to be added to Fortnite, planes. Between Frost Flights and Happy Hamlet, there are a couple of easter eggs and a hidden cave, more on that below.
Polar Peak Location
Home of the mythical castle, Polar Peak is at the center of the Fortnite Season 7 storyline so far. As predicted the iceberg has begun to melt, revealing more of the embedded castle. Leaks have suggested there will be three stages to the melting process, with the first revealing the infinity blade which we reasonably anticipate will be Fortnite next big LTM event. Before the iceberg crashed onto the Fortnite map, images online showed the lights to the castle as on. Who turned the lights on, who owns the castle? There are many rumors, as usual, my personal bold prediction remains the king is sitting on his throne at the bottom of the castle frozen, and when the ice melts…
Areas affected by the snow
Tilted Towers barely misses being swamped in the snow. Mostly only the South of Tilted has been affected by the snow. We do however have some visual changes to the renowned location. Nearly all vehicles have been updated, some have only shuffled around a little. Most importantly the unluckiest building is currently undergoing construction… Again! I instantly hope for two innocent things, firstly, that it’s rebuilt into a secret cult worshiping the Cube. Secondly, for the historic building to once again get destroyed shortly after.
Nothing considerably has changed here other than the area is now filled with glittering snow on the floor and rooftops.
Just Like Tilted Towers, Snobby Shore caught the tail end of the snow storm. The residence here has not allowed the blistering snow and raging chill from dampening their spirits as Christmas decorations have started to go up already.
Goodbye … For now?
Hopelessly lost to the storm were two iconic locations, Flush Factory and Greasy Grove. Regrettably, the only remains of main Flush Factory are the chimneys with A.I.M’s parachute still attached and a bit of the shattered roof. The snow did not hold back, engulfing Flush in piles of ice cold snow
The remnants of Greasy Grove can be found at the ice pond north of Polar Peak. The ice pond covers the old location with only the rooftops visible. You can still enter the old shop via the roof which will drop you inside, allowing you to see the old Greasy all frozen over. Does this mean there is hope for Greasy to return once the ice has melted?
Ice Biome Fortnite Season 7 Secrets
Secret Ice cave
You can find a little secret ice cave located between Happy Hamlet and Frosty Flights. Walk along the edge between them both to unearth it, the exact location is B9. Inside the discovered cave is a little-wooded structure, Chest spawn chance, ammo and stuck in some roots is a single plane. Beware, you can typically enter the cave from below or above. From above it can be easy for you to accidentally fall into the hole if you’re not paying attention. (No, this did not happen to me.)
Isolated Island Escape
There’s two little snow island off the bottom of the map. One has a zip line connecting to and from allowing you to get off the island without any issues. The second and slightly larger one hosts multiple chests and is surrounded by fragrant trees. This unique piece of land does not have any zip lines connected to it, however, there is a little house situated on the island. Go down to the basement of this house, and you’ll discover a perfectly placed rift!
Just north of Frosty Flights, you’ll come across a relatively spacious cabin surrounded by trees. Once inside it would appear to be the same house used in the Fortnite Season 7 trailer. In the living room, there’s a large Christmas Tree with three chests surround it and a large rustic fireplace with a Crackshot family photo above. These minor additions every season undoubtedly make each location a bit more special
Oversized Chair Replaced With A Slay
The oversized Chair once south of Shifty Shafts has been replaced by an oversized woodenly slay.
Amongst a group of trees in the snow biome, you can spot three frozen popular skin. These may be possible placements for a future challenge or as some reasonably believe, a possible teaser for Frozen variants of the skins.
The waterfall has frozen over.
And that wraps up all the noticeable changes in the new snow biome area of Fortnite Season 7. I willingly have to commend Epic Games for these great map changes and the continued work to improve and refresh their game. The new locations, planes, zip lines, and the iceberg melting sure makes the start very exciting.
Now let’s move onto the rest of the map, we’ll kick things off with all the significant changes and then end with all the minor changes that were at least worth a mention.
Risky Reels a.k.a The Block
Once Season 7 kicked off, Risky Reels had been left untouched or so it seemed. Shortly after the launch, Risky Reel became a blank space that was quickly filled by the Block. This is a new location which will be filled by player created content. Players can design their own world in the fantastic creative mode. Successful designs can be shared on social media using the hashtag #FortniteBlockParty. The Block no doubt, will be filled with the most popular designs.
Haunted Castle Destroyed
An unexpected change to the map occurred at the complete opposite side of the battlefield to the melting iceberg. The Castle introduced last year near Haunted Hills has decayed to almost nothing. Perhaps the castle was only meant to facilitate the Fortnitemares build up.
The war is over? Durrr Burger has seized his proper place in Retail Row and all signs point to him being undoubtedly the victor. I guess Durrr Burger obtained his revenge after all. Pizza Pit is still in Retail, however, he’s looking rather lonely right now. Does this mean Pizza Pitt has no choice but to return home?
Rune areas have started to heal
The building behind Wailing Woods has been upgraded
A.I.M Outpost stationed around the map.
Funny looking Stone man West of Wailing Woods
Paradise Palms Grows grass
Mansion has a hidden mini-game in the basement
Loot Lake reclaims its name!!!
These are all the Fortnite Season 7 map changes we’ve managed to find so far, we’ll update this article if we find more. If you know about other changes that we have missed, leave a comment below.
I want to leave you with some food for thought, what’s the deal with all these teddy bears? The Cuddle team Leader is plastered over all the vehicles, in sticker form, and as a bopping head. Plus the amount of brown teddy bears that can be found all over the map is alarming. What do you think, bear army incoming?
