The Pokédex has been expanded as Pokémon Go introduces Unova Region Pokémon and a new evolution stone.

The next chapter of Pokémon Go has started as active players begin finding new Pokémon who originally found in the Unova region. Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Patrat, Lillipup, Blitzle are just a few of many Pokémon discovered in the wild, in Raids and hatched from Pokémon Eggs.

Players will also discover that their Pokédex has received an update to assist them to catalogue the newly discovered Unova Region Pokemon. In order to complete your new expanded Pokédex, you must evolve certain Pokémon like Lampent with the new evolutionary item called Unova Stones.

For those familiar with the Pokémon games, the Unova Region was first introduced in Pokémon Black and Pokémon White games. Adding a further 156 additional Pokémon for you to seek and capture.

The full list of 156 Pokémon has not been added straight away in Pokemon Go but players will discover more and more Unova Region Pokémon as time goes by.

5th Gen Pokémon Eggs

Thanks to Spark and his extensive research, he has uniquely identified the following Unova Region Pokémon have begun hatching from eggs.

  • 2 km Eggs: Patrat, Lillipup, Purrloin, Pidove
  • 5 km Eggs: Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Blitzle, Drilbur, Foongus
  • 10 km Eggs: Ferroseed, Klink, Litwick, Golett, Deino

5th Gen Pokémon Raids

Certain Unova Region Pokémon can only be discovered during Raid Battles. Candela has spotted Lillipup, Patrat, and Klink. Keep an eye out for Shiny versions of Lillipup and Patrat.

Unova Stones

The new evolution item, Unova Stone allows you to evolve 5th Gen Pokémon that need some assistance. Lampent is one of few who can be evolved with the Unova Stone.

How to get Unova Stones in Pokémon Go?

For now, players must complete Research Breakthroughs and obtain them as rewards.
