C9 Vs GMB

First Match

First up we saw C9 the crowds favourite going head to head with GMB who come into this match as the underdogs. In the first game, we saw both teams being cautious and a little nervous as it took roughly 20 minutes before the first major team fight broke out. At this point in the game, it was fairly even but GMD over-committed, fighting underneath C9 tower which gave C9 the advantage to ensure sneaky picks up a triple kill with Kai’Sa. With a 10K gold advantage, C9 steamrolled into GMB base to take the first game and the first points in the League Of Legends Worlds 2018 Play-Ins Knockout Stage.

Second Match

It seemed C9 would carry on how things were left on the previous game with their team grabbing first blood. GMB didn’t let that get to their head as they outperform and outmanoeuvre C9 in the first team fight of the second match to give them a comfortable lead. C9 also lost the second team fight and so they desperately looked for other means to get them back into the game. The team sought after baron to give them a much-needed boost, however, fail to capitalise with the baron buff with GMB evening things out with 1 game each.

Third Match

The third game saw an explosive start with C9 getting first blood in under 3 minutes of the game. They continued with this aggression picking of kills throughout giving C9 a substantial lead. C9 Zeyzal pulled off some remarkable hooks with Thresh landing it successfully 3 times in a row. With the majority of GMB players eliminated, C9 comfortably regain the lead in the League Of Legends Worlds 2018 knockout stage.

Fourth Match

GMB will need to win this match to remain in the League Of Legends Worlds 2018 knockout stage. With fourth saw a similar explosive start but from both team this time with both sides picking up some kills. The turning point was when both teams contested for Baron which saw GMB victorious. With the power of the Baron buff, GMB was able to claim the fourth game to take them into the deciding fifth and final game.

Deciding Match

Both teams traded kills to keep the match all square, but C9 were farming better and so their gold lead was increasing. Things got worse for GMB as they failed to prevent C9 taking the Dragon which put them further behind their rivals. GMB had some success in team fights and claw back some of the gold deficit, however, C9 waited patiently in the next team fight that saw them take out two of GMB players without losing any themselves. With team GBM players two men lighter, C9 baited the remaining GMB players over to Baron. C9 Zeyzal hid behind a wall and used Alistar headbutt to catch GMB off guard to pick up another two kills and with Baron uncontested, manage to secure Baron too. GMB held off until Baron buff worn off and had to go all out, but C9 was too strong and took the final game and are the first team of the League Of Legends Worlds 2018 Play-Ins Knockout Stage to advance.

EDG continued with their dominance by ganking early in the mid lane picking up first blood. A few moments later EDG repeated this but DFM was ready and evened things out with a kill apiece. DFM put up more a fight in this game but they failed to kill EDG Scout, who could pick up kills without dying with a KDA (Kill, Death, Assists) of 7-0-0 and giving team EDG a huge advantage. DFM responded by starting Baron to gain momentum and get themselves back into the game, but EDG sussed DFM was up to something and scouted Baron.
