Laurson’s mod enables users to remove the FPS cap during those gruesome cutscenes and remove the black sidebars when using ultrawide monitors

Less than a week ago, Mortal Kombat 11 was released to the world, containing brand new fighters, Fatal Blows, Gears and Augments and those gruesome finishing moves called Fatalities. After a day the violent fighting game was made available to play, it quickly went on to become the franchise most successful launch ever. A big achievement for NetherRealm Studio and creator Ed Boon who developed the first game, 27 years ago.

However, it hasn’t completely been smooth sailing. A few days after the launch, Mortal Kombat 11 receives a patch containing bug fixes, tweaks to the AI and gifted users, 500,000 Koins, 500 hearts, 1,000 Soul Fragments and 1,000 Time Krystal due to difficulty issues in Towers of Time and criticism about the grind. Other annoyances were established when users played Mortal Kombat 11 on an ultrawide monitor. Black side bars were visible on the menu and in the Krypt. Furthermore, users noticed that all the cutscenes, showing the fight Intros, Fatal Blows and the gruesome Fatalities cinematics, frame rate dropped from 60 FPS (Frames Per Second) to 30 FPS.

Thanks to creator Endri Lauson 3rd Party Mod, it will help alleviate the problem by removing the black sidebars and the FPS cap. Allowing users to view cutscenes at the full 60 FPS.

Users would need to download and install the mod that will enable users to press F11 to toggle on/off the mod to remove the FPS cap. In order to remove the black sidebars when using ultrawide monitor, users can press F10.

Below is a video showing off the Mod, with detailed instructions on how to install within the video description.
