Riot Games presented players with Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies, the widely awaited third collection for the popular auto-chess genre. Not wishing the hype train around Set 3 to end, Riot released new details that contain specific origins, champions, and mechanics ahead of the release next month.

The first and most significant feature to be revealed so far in the new set has been the adjustable mechanics of the Galaxies which will override the elemental hexes from Rise of the Elements. However, at long last, we get a chance to explore some of the new set of champions and traits that will come into TFT: Galaxies.

All of the details below are subject to revision before TFT: Galaxies go live next month, so take that into consideration.

Teamfight Tactics STAR GUARDIAN

Teamfight Tactics Set 3 Star Guardian Trait
Teamfight Tactics Set 3 Star Guardian Trait
  • Poppy – Tier 1 (Star Guardian/Vanguard): Tanky Frontliner
  • Zoe – Tier 1 (Star Guardian/Sorcerer): Ranged CC
  • Ahri – Tier 2 (Star Guardian/Sorcerer): Ranged Spell Damage
  • Neeko – Tier 3 (Star Guardian/Protector): AOE CC
  • Syndra – Tier 3 (Star Guardian/Sorcerer): Ranged Spell Damage
  • Soraka – Tier 4 (Star Guardian/Mystic): Team Healing

Trait Effect: Whenever a Star Guardian casts their spell, distribute (3) 20 mana (6) 30 mana among all the other Star Guardians.

Star Guardian is Riot’s first squad composition to be added to set 3. Functioning as the Lux of traits, Star Guardians are made up of six units however, with the use of a Spatula and Tear of the Goddess other champions can join the group. With the development team taking a real shine to the potential Star Guardian Vel’Koz has.

Caster-heavy, the Star Guardian line up will be looking to continuously pump out their abilities, which as pointed out but the devs will work flawlessly in combination with the TFT Set 3 Sorcerer trait.

Teamfight Tactics Sorcerer

  • Annie – Tier 2 (Mech Pilot/Sorcerer): Frontline Spell Damage
  • Zoe – Tier 1 (Star Guardian/Sorcerer): Ranged CC
  • Ahri – Tier 2 (Star Guardian/Sorcerer): Ranged Spell Damage
  • Syndra – Tier 3 (Star Guardian/Sorcerer): Ranged Spell Damage

Trait Effect: All allies gain (2) +15% (4) +40% (6) +120% increased Spell Power

Sorcerers and Star Guardians naturally work very well together, and it’s no happy coincidence. Riot states that a fundamental basic understanding between traits will help less experienced players create strong and stable team comps without much confusion. That’s not to say you can’t mix things up still for the more advanced players!

Teamfight Tactics Cybernetic

  • Leona – Tier 1 (Cybernetic/Vanguard): Tanky frontliner
  • Fiora – Tier 1 (Cybernetic/Blademaster): Fragile Melee DPS
  • Irelia – Tier 4 (Cybernetic/Mana-Reaver/Blademaster): Melee DPS

Trait Effect: Cybernetic champions with an item equipped gain (3) 300 health & 30 attack damage (6) 800 health & 80 attack damage.

Cybernetics represents a refreshing new take on how players will look to build their team. While the concept is relatively straightforward, spread your items out to achieve a special bonus, players can get creative with it. The trait comes with a 3 or 6 unit requirement so it’s up to the player how deep they want to speed the wealth.

Teamfight Tactics Blademaster

  • Xayah – Tier 1 (Celestial/Blademaster): Ranged DPS
  • Shen – Tier 2 (Chrono/Blademaster): Tanky frontliner
  • Yasuo – Tier 2 (Rebel/Blademaster): Melee DPS
  • Kayle – Tier 4 (Valkyrie/Blademaster): Ranged DPS
  • Fiora – Tier 1 (Cybernetic/Blademaster): Fragile Melee DPS
  • Irelia – Tier 4 (Cybernetic/Mana-Reaver/Blademaster): Melee DPS

Trait Effect: Blademasters have a (3) 25% (6) 50% chance on hit to attack two extra times.

Blademasters are back, and as you can probably tell synergizes very well with the Cybernetic trait. Choosing to go down the root of Cybernetic plus Blademaster root, the main carry becomes evidently obvious – Irelia. With an excellent chance of extra auto attacks and the bonus health and damage from Cybernetic’s bonus will make her a tremendous late-game threat.

Teamfight Tactics Mech-Pilot

Super Mechs Coming To Teamfight Tactics Galaxies

  • Annie – Tier 2 (Mech Pilot/Sorcerer): Frontline Spell Damage
  • Rumble – Tier 3 (Mech Pilot/Demolitionist): Frontline Spell Damage
  • Fizz – Tier 4 (Mech Pilot/Infiltrator): Backline CC & Damage

Trait Effect: (3) At the start of combat, three Mech-Pilot champs are merged into a Super Mech until it dies.

The Power Rangers hype anybody? Personally, I cannot wait to witness this particular trait’s bonus in action. It’s worth noting the super mech shares traits and stats from each of the champions, so the higher their level, the more powerful the mech. Combine the mech we other traits and things get genuinely interesting. In Riots example, they pair Mech-Pilot with Sorcerers to grant the mech 40% spell power, and when your mech uses its sizeable AOE, everyone hit will be stunned for 2.5 seconds.

Teamfight Tactics Demolitionist

  • Ziggs – Tier 1 (Rebel/Demolitionist): Ranged Spell Damage
  • Rumble – Tier 3 (Mech Pilot/Demolitionist): Frontline Spell Damage

Trait Effect: (2) Demolitionist’s spells stun for 2.5 seconds.

Another trait that makes perfect sense to use in conjunction with the Mech-Pilot is the new Demolitionist! Needing to add only Ziggs into the mix to gain the impactful buff. Utilizing a large mech and a ranged caster that can both equally stun for 2.5 seconds will be super powerful as Teamfight tactics Set 3 launches.
