Grinding Gear Games have announced their next big expansion, Path of Exile Blight.
Path of Exile 3.7 Legion League is entering its final stage which naturally means we are edging closer to PoE 3.8 expansion. As promised, Path of Exile: Blight was announced at 2 pm PDT on the 08/20/2019. Here’s everything we know so far!
POE 3.8 Blight
Blight Fungal Growths have spawned throughout Path of Exile, attacking anything that looks to harm them. Once threatened, the Blight will summon infected monsters to defend it, however, the infected monsters will only attack exiles found on the Blight’s tendrils.
Path of Exile 3.8 Blight will introduce players to a new building mechanic, which you’ll need to utilize to defeat the spirited infected monsters. Build impressive defensive towers that can emit flames, chill the air and move the earth! Select the right tower to exploit each monster’s weaknesses. New item enchants can bolster the performance of each available tower.
There are multiple tendrils spawned from each growth, for each lane defeated you’ll receive a chest reward. New PoE Blight chest rewards like Oils can be traded to Sister Cassia to enchant certain items. Blighted Maps offer greater rewards including unique items. Containing larger Blight Fungal Growths, Blighted maps also grants you the chance to enchant earned unique items with notable passive skills. (For now, these appear to be limited to rings, amulets and one special unique set.)
Path of Exile 3.8 will also let players choose what side content they would like to play and when. Master Missions will now stack for a later time if you choose not to run them immediately. Even if you encounter a Master Mission within a map, you can choose to talk to the Master in your hideout at a later time to take up their specific task.
Legion and the boss fights from Synthesis have also been integrated into the core game, plus Betrayal’s rewards have been revamped and improved. Additionally, Delve should be easier for Exiles to achieve deeper depths!
