Clamperl and other Water-type Pokémon are swimming to shore this weekend

Professor Willow, a Pokémon professor in Pokémon Go has more research tasks for you to complete. During this limited time research, professor Willow wants you to find the Water-type Pokémon Clamperl. However, Clamperl will not be alone, other Water-type Pokémon are coming to shore. Expect to encounter a wide variety of Water-type Pokémon during the limited research event.

Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: Feb. 23, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. UTC (GMT +0)
The Americas and Greenland: Feb. 23, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8)
Asia-Pacific: Feb. 24, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. JST (GMT +9)


The tough-shelled Bivalve Pokémon will appear once you have completed your Field Research tasks. Spin PokéStops to collect your Field Research tasks and once they are completed, Clamperl will appear. You can repeat the process to capture many Clampearl.

You will need to collect many Clamperl if you wish to evolve your Water-type Pokémon. Clamperl evolves into either Huntail or Gorebyss.

If you manage to collect the research for Clampearl before the event has finished, you will still be able to finish off the research after it has ended.

Surfing along for the ride are several other Water-type Pokemon such as Krabby and Wailmer. Get your Pokéballs ready for a mass capture, especially if you would like to evolve any these Pokémon.

Additional features of the limited research event include double catch stardust for each Water-type Pokémon caught during the three-hour window.
