Another official League of Legends Dev announcement for upcoming plans in 2020 has arrived, this time focused around League’s popular auto-battler, Teamfight Tactics. 2020 is set to be a spectacular year for TFT, as Riot announces it aims to make Teamfight Tactics’ mobile debut in mid-March and release Set 3 around the same time.

TFT Producer Dax “Lunchboy” Andrus and TFT game design lead Stephen “Mortdog” Mortimer gently teased fans with snippets of what we can eagerly expect from TFT Set 3, with cryptic wordplay aplenty. Hinting at possible new Set 3 champions with statements like “It’s a pretty big Project” while visuals of Project Fiora displayed. Mortdog ultimately concludes the TFT announcement by simply stating “Our hope is that you’ll find the next Set to be out of this world.” What that means is anybody’s guess, however, judging by the work Riot done on Set 2 with the introduction of all-new champions, traits and elemental hexes, we can eagerly assume it’ll be something just as magical.

TFT SET 3 Champions

Riot’s current choice of champions for TFT Set 1 and Set 2 has so far been perfectly thematic, utilizing champions skins to group units into specific traits. During the TFT 2020 Dev Announcement, we got to see a fascinating glimpse at Four Champions with the Devs emphasizing each skin group.

TFT Set 3 Champions Teased

  • Project Fiora
  • Star Guardian Poppy
  • Odyssey Jinx
  • Pulsefire Shen

As you may have noticed all four champions were apart of Set one, obviously strategic on Riot’s part to not give too much away. However, in Set 2 we did see some champions from Set 1 transfer over but under a different trait based on the skin, like Brand. It’s with the same assumption that we can guess what champions are likely to feature in TFT Set 3, at least a possible pool of champions based on skin.

Looking through the likely selection of TFT Set 3 champions based on skins, we see some familiar faces with many currently in Set 2 or featured in Set 1. It’s unknown how many new champions will make it into Set 3, though IMO I would expect to see most Pulsefire Champions and Odyssey Champions introduced based on the typical number of units that make up a trait.

Riot is looking at Mid-March for Teamfight Tactics Set 3 to be released, until then I’m certain more teaser will come so stay connected to l2pbomb’s social media to always stay up-to-date.
